The Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra invites you on an unforgettable musical adventure, exploring some of the most thrilling, mysterious and inspiring music ever written. From the heroic grandeur of Beethoven's Creatures of Prometheus to the fiery passion of Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1, every piece paints a vivid story without a single word.
Feel the tension build in Berlioz's dramatic March to the Scaffold, shiver as Saint-Saëns' mischievous Danse Macabre brings the supernatural to life, and journey through Mussorgsky's extraordinary musical landscapes—from the wild flight of Baba-Yaga to the majestic splendour of The Great Gates of Kiev.
After interval, we launch into the electrifying Night on Bald Mountain, one of classical music's most exhilarating orchestral showpieces.
Experience the unforgettable music that has introduced new generations to the sound of the orchestra. From soaring dragons and enchanted creatures to masked heroes, magical worlds and prehistoric wonder, hear iconic symphonic themes from Harry Potter, Batman, Fantastic Beasts, How to Train Your Dragon and John Williams' timeless score from Jurassic Park performed live by full orchestra.
Leading the orchestra is Maestro Marco Bellasi, an award-winning conductor and dual citizen of Italy and Australia. A graduate of the Milan Conservatoire and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, Marco has worked with renowned ensembles including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and Ensemble 10/10. Now based on the Gold Coast, he is celebrated for his energetic, expressive performances and his passion for making orchestral music engaging and accessible to audiences of all ages.
