Y09 Plumbing Taster - Expression of Interest | Wednesday 26 August 2026 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM (UTC+08) | South Metropolitan Tafe - Thornlie Campus
We are excited to offer students an opportunity to step into the world of Plumbing, in this exciting taster, students will be introduced to the basics of plumbing, with a focus on digging, pipe work and general plumbing hands on skills. Get hands-on experience with this engaging program designed to be informative and provide students with a practical understanding of plumbing tasks.
Get down and dirty in the sand digging a trench, complete cutting/joining/crimping, and copper pipework. Test leakages to see if your pipe can with-hold the pressure.
Students must wear steel capped boots, long cotton pants, and a long-sleeved cotton shirt - your clothes will get dirty.
We are inviting Expressions of Interest from students curious to explore the Plumbing trade and how to pursue a future career in this profession. The Plumbing Taster Day will occur on Wednesday, 26th August at the Rockingham South Metropolitan TAFE campus, students and staff will travel via bus to/from the venue.
Full PPE will be required Steel capped boots, cotton trousers and shirt - students/parents to supply. Students will also need to be prepared for a 7am travel start. Please only express interest if you are willing to meet the dress and time requirements.
