Catholic Foundations: A People on Mission - Cairns/Innisfail
About
Catholic Foundations Course Module 4: A People on MissionOne of the most striking and consistent themes in the consultation process of the Plenary Council was the call for more and better formation in faith for all the baptised. In response to this call, the Archdiocesan Centre for Catholic Formation was launched in order to engage the baptised in a deeper experience of God as understood and experienced in the Catholic tradition.
At the heart of the Centre’s offerings are four core modules entitled Catholic Foundations. Catholic Foundations is designed to draw Catholics into the fullness of the Catholic life and provide formation for those considering ministry roles. The experience will engage both the head and the heart so participants grow in knowledge and the lived experience of Catholic faith. This module includes 9 sessions supported with opportunities for individual reflection and an optional certificate awarded at completion.
Each module of our Catholic Foundations course is open to all, and you do not need to have completed other modules in order to register for Module 4.
This module engages participants in an exploration of what it means to be a people on mission. This will include investigating the call to evangelisation, exploring evangelisation in the context of parish and family life, as well the role of evangelisation in the wider community. This module will also look at how we can make missionary disciples in our parishes and present practical ways that the church calls us to go forth on mission. As such, participants will develop a wholistic understanding of Pope Francis’ invitation to go out as missionary disciples and be equipped to evangelise in relevant, practical and effective ways.
Module 4 – A People on Mission will commence on Monday 17 August 2026.
Each session is held live in Brisbane and streamed to our Cairns and Innisfail hubs in real time.
We’ll gather at the CSB Conference Room (Catholic Services Building, 130 Lake St and Innisfail Parish Meeting Room) to view the livestream as a group and participate in the live conversation.
