If She Spoke Exhibition 23rd May 2027 Brisbane Showgrounds
About
If She Spoke: Stories from Struggle to Strength returns to Brisbane Showgrounds for its second year on Sunday, 23 May 2027.Created by artist RMH ART, If She Spoke is a powerful, immersive exhibition built around the real experiences of women — the stories that are so often hidden, minimised, silenced or considered too uncomfortable to hear.
Women live through experiences including domestic and sexual violence, childhood abuse, grief, loss, trauma, motherhood, mental illness, survival and rebuilding. Too often, there is no safe space for the full truth of those experiences. People turn away, change the subject or expect women to carry their pain quietly.
If She Spoke was created to make space for those truths.
Through large-scale artwork, storytelling and immersive installations, the exhibition brings women’s experiences into the open without sanitising or censoring them. It honours not only the pain women have endured, but the extraordinary resilience, courage and strength required to survive, rebuild and continue forward.
This is an exhibition about being seen.
It is about giving weight to stories that have gone unheard.
It is about creating honest conversations around the realities women face — and recognising the strength of the women who have lived through them.
A Special Collaboration
The 2027 exhibition will also feature an important collaboration with award-winning journalist, researcher and activist Sherele Moody, founder of Australian Femicide Watch and The RED HEART Movement. Sherele’s work documents violence against women and children and ensures that the lives and stories of those lost are not erased or forgotten.
As part of this collaboration, The She Matters Mural will be incorporated into If She Spoke. The evolving memorial honours Australian women killed by violence, placing their faces and names into public view and insisting that their lives mattered.
Its inclusion within the exhibition strengthens the central message of If She Spoke:
Women’s stories matter. Women’s pain must not be ignored. Women must not be erased.
One Day Only
If She Spoke is a one-day-only exhibition, with a limited number of tickets available to protect the experience, manage the flow of visitors and ensure the space does not become overcrowded.
This is not simply an exhibition to walk past.
It is a space to slow down, witness, reflect, feel and listen.
