About

Is your safety system actually protecting your people, or is it just protecting your paperwork?
Every week, directors and safety leaders review dashboards filled with "green ticks". Audits are signed off, scheduled inspections are completed, and compliance reports look perfect. Yet, catastrophic incidents continue to occur in systems where every single box was ticked.

The hard truth is that traditional binary audits are blind to the "drift to failure." Over time, temporary workarounds quietly become permanent. Exclusion zones shrink due to congestion, safety features are bypassed to hit production targets, and critical controls degrade silently right under the nose of your compliance schedule.

In this free, highly practical webinar, the Art of Work Academy challenges the conventional compliance norm. We will show you how to move away from retrospective, paper-based check-boxes and build a proactive operating system focused on real-world control reliability.

What We Will Cover

1. The Compliance Gap: Work-as-Disclosed vs. Work-as-Done

The Paper Illusion: Why activity counts and administrative checklists fail to prove control effectiveness or discharge your legal due diligence.
The 62% Default Trap: Why operations lacking capital or bandwidth continuously default to weak administrative "support" controls (like procedures and training) rather than robust engineering barriers, and how this leaves your organization exposed.

2. The Four Dimensions of Reliability

Learn to evaluate your critical controls using a multi-dimensional framework that looks at how work actually happens at the coalface:
Robustness & Human Dependency: How to balance the physical engineering strength of a barrier against the cognitive load and memory required for a human to operate it.
Alignment & Adaptability: Do your safety controls actually help workers complete their tasks, or do they hinder them? How do these controls perform under "edge cases" like abnormal weather, contractor shifts, or high-pressure situations?
Interrogating the Divergence: Why the gap between what subject matter experts design (work-as-imagined) and what frontline operators experience (work-as-done) is the single most important safety metric you aren't measuring.

3. The Mindset Shift: Compliance vs. Reliability

Who is this for?

This session is designed specifically for Safety Professionals, Operations Directors, and Engineers who are ready to challenge standard safety bureaucracy and build highly defensible, operationally reliable evidence of due diligence.
