Kaitlyn Chester is a Brisbane-based jazz vocalist, bassist, and bandleader recognised for her contemporary approach to the Great American Songbook and improvisation. A finalist in the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship, she has established herself as an emerging voice on the Australian jazz scene, with performances spanning leading venues including the Brisbane Jazz Club, JMI Live, Gold Coast City Jazz Club, and HOTA (Home of the Arts), alongside appearances in New York, the UK, and Europe.
In 2025, Kaitlyn undertook intensive study at the Tribeca Jazz Institute in New York City with Lucy Yeghiazaryan, Pasquale Grasso, and Chris Byars, supported by the Owen Fletcher Postgraduate Award presented by the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. During this time, she recorded her debut EP in New York City, marking the beginning of her current recording output.
Returning to Queensland, Kaitlyn is launching her debut LP at The Ruby Jazz Club, with support from the Friends of the Arts Foundation. As a bandleader, arranger, and improviser, she directs the Kaitlyn Chester Quartet and her trio, bringing a personal and exploratory approach to ensemble performance while continuing to build momentum toward further international study.

Step inside from 6:30 pm. The music begins at 7:30 pm. Venue closes at 11.30pm.
Seating is unreserved and claimed by those who arrive first. The early ones always find the best vantage point.
Food and small plates will be available throughout the evening, and the bar will be flowing with local and international wines, classic cocktails, fine spirits, and a deep collection of bourbons worthy of New Orleans itself.
