Feathery Fun on the Gel Plate
About
Join Helen for a new exploration of Gel Plate Printing using beautiful feathers for texture and design. There are so many different sizes and shapes of feathers, and Helen has quite a collection, including stunning peacock feathers. In this workshop you will first learn (or refresh) the basic use of a gel plate to obtain a nice clean print using acrylic paints. Then the fun begins, layering different feathers, multiple colours, with some additional texture from stencils and texture tools. The results are beautiful painted papers you can use for collage, making cards, in art journals, to wrap a small gift etc. You will take home every print you make.
Then you will discover a special technique, called reverse painting, where you will create a fabulous print of peacock feathers with the colours of the eye feathers painted in layers from the reverse of the image. The resulting print is a true stunner. Choose your favourite print of the day to take home already framed to hang straight on your wall.
Suitable for complete beginners, or those with experience of gel printing. Everything is provided.
