Lunch and Learn: Universal Design for Learning
About
The School of Education is delighted to invite Pre-Service Teachers and other interested students to a Lunch and Learn on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Join visiting scholar Mr Bill Wilmot, a Senior UDL Implementation Specialist at CAST (Centre for Applied Special Technology), for an engaging seminar focused on creating more inclusive, accessible, and effective learning environments. Bill brings his experience as a school leader and a math, science, and music teacher.
Pre-Service Teachers can learn more about UDL and how it:
- Remove barriers without lowering expectations
Design learning experiences that support all students to succeed at high levels. - Move from intervention to intentional design
Create lessons accessible through multiple modalities to benefit every learner. - Boost engagement through choice and agency
Support self-regulation and motivation by allowing students different pathways to the same goal.
Come prepared with any questions you may have about implementing UDL.
Certificate of participation available on request.
