An intimate evening with one of Australia's most celebrated entertainers comes to the 2026 Peter Allen Festival. Award winning Australian performer Todd McKenney will appear at the Tenterfield School of Arts on Saturday 3 October 2026 for one very special performance celebrating the extraordinary life, music and legacy of Peter Allen.FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY the audience will have the opportunity to experience an intimate evening with Todd McKenney in the town where Peter Allen's remarkable story began.
Few Australian performers have a connection to Peter Allen as powerful or as enduring as Todd McKenney. Todd became one of the country's most acclaimed musical theatre performers through his legendary portrayal of Peter Allen in the Australian production of The Boy From Oz. He performed the role in more than 1000 shows across Australia helping make the production one of the longest running and most successful Australian musicals of all time.
Now Todd will come to Tenterfield to celebrate the man whose music has become part of Australia's cultural history. Todd is one of Australia's most versatile and recognisable entertainers, and his career includes major roles in many musical productions as well as television, film and radio. However it is his landmark portrayal of Peter Allen that remains one of the defining roles of his career.
This performance will be the signature event of the 2026 Peter Allen Festival celebration weekend being held in Tenterfield 2-5 October.
Peter Allen's journey began in Tenterfield and eventually took him to stages around the world. Todd McKenney helped bring that extraordinary journey to life for Australian audiences. Todd's performance in Tenterfield during a weekend dedicated to celebrating Peter's life, music and legacy is enormously significant. This will be a very special night and a wonderful moment in the story of the Peter Allen Festival.
