Galileo Galilei (1564–1642), the founder of observational astronomy
and modern physics, spent some of his formative years studying
mathematics and drawing, at Florence’s Accademia del Disegno.
This proved integral to many of his later scientific observations,
including the phases of the moon. Discover an individual who
exemplified the Renaissance belief in the integrated nature of all
disciplines.
