Extend your Melbourne visit to a long weekend for a guided tour of the Griffin partnership’s heritage-listed 800-lot subdivision in Mount Eliza. Designed in 1924 and less well known than Castlecrag, but of equal national importance and interest. It is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register, and has a spectacular setting on the eastern shore of Port Phillip Bay.Included is a guided tour of the northern part of Ranelagh, and an exclusive invitation from Victoria Grounds to visit secluded heritage-listed Ramsay House designed by Roy Grounds in 1937, recently rescued and painstakingly restored by his daughter. The house is a Grounds early masterpiece, and was featured in Tim Ross's first 'Designing A Legacy' documentary and in the 2025 book by Tony Lee titled 'Roy Grounds - Experiments in Minimum Living'.
The Ranelagh Estate at Mount Eliza is a one hour drive south of Melbourne’s CBD. It can be reached by public transport by catching the train to Frankston, and a bus or taxi from the station for a 10 minute drive to 29 Rendlesham Avenue.
Ticket includes light refreshments.
These funds will go towards the restoration and repairs to Ramsay House.
