About

In November 2025, Victoria became the first Australian state to sign a Treaty with its First Peoples — a milestone built on years of consultation, truth‑telling and community leadership. Our Understanding Treaty event will explore what Treaty is and how it will influence areas such as education, health, land management, and community wellbeing.
Come along to learn, reflect, and be part of the conversation with our guest speakers:

Aunty Esme Bamblett CEO of the Aboriginal Advancement League and member of the First People’s Assembly of Victoria, Gellung Warl.
Professor Andrew Gunstone Co-Chair of Reconciliation Victoria and an internationally recognised authority on reconciliation, truth and justice.
Nerita Waight CEO of the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and a former Treaty negotiator.

All are welcome including friends and family.

Tin Alley is between Swanston St and Royal Parade
