Combat Women looks at the influential role Vietnamese women played in the defeat of both the French and American forces during the Indochina Wars [1945 to 1975] and how their actions consequently freed them from the repressive patriarchy of their society.

Whilst in the West the women’s movement of the '60s and '70s fought for proper recognition for women, in Vietnam their battles were even more seismic. In a world of combat, and a struggle for independence, gender was not in play.

Combat Women is the story of such women, their courage, bravery and faith.
