Operation Night Owl - 1st Woodend Scouts

This Trybooking form is for 1st Woodend Scout Group to sign up for Operation Night Owl 2026 'Night at the Movies'.Night Owl is a patrol hike where Scouts hike in the dark and complete four fun activities along the way. In previous years, the night hike has covered 10–15 km.
Scouts will be working towards completing the I Statements for the Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) Bushwalking stream.
Overview of the event:
*Saturday 12 September 2026
1pm: Arrive at campsite and set up
2:30pm: Opening Parade (arrive at opening parade ready to hike)
3:00pm Registration & preparing maps for Night Hike
4:00 - 5:00pm: Patrols leave at staggered intervals for Night Hike (dinner provided during the hike)
8:00 - 10:00pm: Patrols return from Night Hike (supper provided: hot chocolate and raisin toast on a fire)
9:00pm Night Wide Game (for those arriving back early enough)
*Sunday 13 September 2026
7:00am: Rise & shine, breakfast, pack down your camp
8:45am: Patrol Leader meeting
9:00am: Closing Parade
9:30am: Depart from camp
The Trybooking sign up form will close for this event on Tuesday 25 August at 10pm.
*Dates: 12 - 13 September 2026
* Location: Eumeralla Scout Camp, 1415 Great Ocean Rd, Anglesea VIC 3230
* Transport Arrangements: Parents to arrange own transport. Parents are welcome to use the Thursday Scouts WhatsApp group to arrange carpooling to and from the event.
* What to Bring: Full list will be provided closer to the event but each scout will need personal sleeping gear (tents provided) and a day pack for hiking.
*Food: Scouts to eat lunch before arriving at 1pm. Please supply your own afternoon tea. Dinner, Supper and Breakfast will be provided.
* Activity Cost: $40 (plus booking fee) for registration and meals (dinner, supper and breakfast).
