Phil & Trudy Edgeley w/ Shane Pacey
About
Phil and Trudy Edgeley are both Singers, Songwriters and multi-instrumentalist. Performing together throughout Australia, UK, Europe and the USA, Phil & Trudy encapsulate the dynamics of a great partnership on both a musical and a personal level. Throw in a little humour and interaction with the audience and the result is a show that draws the listener into a new and exciting place.Phil Edgeley's (Weissenborn, Acoustic, Resophonic Guitars/Vocals) British Folk/Roots songwriting & music style infused with Trudy Edgeley's (Acoustic Guitar/Ukelele/Peruvian Drum/Vocals) melting pot of cultures.
Trudy's haunting vocals, melodies, tropical tempos & tribal beats reflects not only her influences and passion for her music, but also her desire to tell the stories of her rich ancestery from the canefields of Far North Queensland to the shores of Jamaica.
Shane Pacey was born in Sheffield, England and came to Australia when he was 10 years old.He began playing the guitar at 14 & helped form Sydney pop/rock band U-Turn in 1976, and by 1977 they had appeared on “Countdown” four times. (Shane remembers little of this period, conveniently)
Despairing of an 80s music scene rapidly becoming obsessed with haircuts and synthesizers, Shane turned back to his first love, the blues, and threw himself headlong into the inner-city roots music scene.
He often filled in for various members of The Foreday Riders and The Hippos, before joining up with refugees from those bands to create The Bondi Cigars, who quickly became one of Australia’s leading blues/rock bands, for whom Shane is principal singer, guitarist and songwriter.
25-30 years of heavy touring followed, interspersed with the odd break for recording.
For this gig Shane will be in acoustic mode in an intimate setting…
