Mount Gambier Nepalese Community Inc. is again delighted to announce our upcoming Teej & Dar Program 2026, celebrating the vibrant festival of Teej

Entry Fee: $25 Per Person (Free entry for children under 10 years)
What is included within Ticket??
-Entry
-Delicious Nepalese Cuisine including Cold Drinks
-DJ Live sessions
-Dance performances
-Other amazing entertainment programs
Extras:
Raffle tickets are available for $5 per ticket or $20 for five which will give you chance to win Gold necklace and other amazing gift hampers

Teej is a Hindu festival celebrated mainly by Nepali women, dedicated to the goddess Parvati and her devotion to Lord Shiva. It is a day filled with prayers, fasting, dancing, singing, and vibrant red attire, symbolising love, strength, and the well‑being of family. Women along with family come together to share Dar (a special feast), celebrate sisterhood, and honour cultural traditions passed down through generations. Teej is celebrated not only in Nepal but also by Nepali communities around the world, including Australia, where it helps keep cultural identity alive and strengthens community connection.
This celebration is an important cultural festival for the Nepalese community, and we warmly welcome everyone in Mount Gambier to join us.
What to Wear?
It is recommended to wear traditional Nepalese attire such as Sari, Lehega, Kurta or such for Women and Daura Suruwal, Formal Wear, Dhaka Topi or such for Men that would reflect cultural significance.
