If you have ever wanted to create something different – beyond a skirt, dress, blouse – then this workshop is for you. YES, SNEAKERS!In this 2 day workshop you will be assisted to create your unique pair of sneakers.
The workshop will be held on:
• Sunday 18 October and Sunday 1 November, 9.30 to 4pm
• at the Liddelow Homestead, 7 Cooper Ave, Kenwick.
• The venue has a fully stocked kitchen (cutlery, cups, hot water)
• The cost of the 2 day workshop is $75 pp
Prework:
• You will need to obtain the pattern (free) and then to purchase the kit
• The pattern is available from…www.uhohcreations.com
We are making the Jerry sneakers
• The kit consists of the soles, laces, grommets and strong nylon thread. It is around $99 and can be purchased from …www.sneakerstitch.com.au
• Cut out the pattern pieces (I did this on cardboard)
• Read over the pattern instructions (just so you have a very general idea of the construction). We will definitely go over these (in detail) on day 1
Bring on the day:
• Your lunch
• The pattern and the kit
• Your fabric etc (as detailed in the pattern instructions). The beauty of making something like sneakers is that you can use quite small sizes of (cotton) fabric.
• Sewing machine and appropriate thread for quilting the fabric pieces
• Pins, heavy hand sewing needles
• Pen/texta to draw on fabric
We will supply:
• 5mm foam
• Grommet tools
• Tea/coffee facilities
• Morning tea
• Tissue paper (for sewing directly onto the foam)
