August Tasting, QMWS Nundah Sept: Speyside
About
For our August tasting we will return to the traditional heartland of Scottish Whisky-Speyside. The Speyside Whisky region is the most dense and productive region in the world. Speyside produces over half of Scottish single malts. Speyside does have an extensive range of styles from the light and floral to the peated smokey side. In today's tadting we will be exploring the Sherry style.
Speyside grain driven flavour profile tends to be the light and floral green apple and similarly lighter flavour. Combining this grain with the flavours imparted from Spanish ex-sherry casks (Oloroso/Pedro Ximenez) tends to impart the deeper flavours of Christmas cake, dried fruits and dark chocolate.

For our August tasting, we travel to the Speyside to unearth the tasting from Sherry cask finish.

While whisky is of course provided for the tasting, you are also welcome to bring your own beverages to enjoy with your meal (light meal provided).
Please make sure you bring your own glasses for the tasting, as glasses provided by the venue are limited.
