The President and Council of the Society are pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend the launch of 'A Quick Guide to Supervising Legal Practitioners in Tasmania'. This is a product of the Society's Wellbeing Committee.

A product of the Society's Wellbeing Committee, this publication provides practical and useful advice which seeks to:
- Assist supervisors to provide quality and meaningful supervision in accordance with statutory and professional obligations
- Enhance the standard of legal practitioners’ work and the provision of legal services in Tasmania
- Enhance well-being and retention rates for lawyers in Tasmania
Dr Michael McNamara, author of Supervision in the Legal Profession will speak briefly, followed by the official launch of this valuable resource. Drinks and canapes will be provided.
Dr Michael McNamara is Assistant Professor in Business Law and Corporate Governance, Nottingham University Business School China. Michael is the author of Supervision in the Legal Profession (Palgrave Macmillan 2020), the first book dedicated to the topic of professional supervision in the context of legal practice. Prior to becoming a full-time academic, Michael worked as a solicitor in a range of legal practice settings, including a top-tier national firm, a small commercial firm and as a supervisor of law students in a community legal centre.
