Ecstatic Dance Cheltenham is an event for you to 'Move. Feel. Release. Restore' and lifts you into high energy through embodied, free-form movement, and then gently brings you back into balance with a Yoga Nidra and a deeply relaxing Sound Healing.Join us for an evening of embodied movement, connection and deep relaxation - a space to step away from everyday life and reconnect with yourself through movement, music and sound - movement organised, held and put together 13 times now by Carole Overmaat.
We'll begin together in circle with a cacao ceremony guided by the lovely Carole Overmaat, awakening the senses and setting the intention for the evening.
From there, DJ Thomas Bunker will take us on an ecstatic dance journey - beginning with a gentle, structured approach before opening into free-flowing movement. There is no choreography and no experience needed. Listen to your body, follow the music and move in whatever way feels right for you.
After the dance, we'll gradually transition into stillness with a deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra guided by Carole Overmaat, accompanied by music, giving the body and mind an opportunity to slow down, settle and integrate.
We'll then close the evening with a deeply immersive sound healing led by Julie of zeninn, using the beautiful tones and vibrations of Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls, a 528Hz Energy Chime Bar, Tingsha bells and other therapeutic sound instruments.
Allow the layers of sound and vibration to wash over you as you rest, breathe and simply receive.
Sound baths can offer a beautiful opportunity to slow down and shift out of the busyness of everyday life, supporting deep relaxation, stress release, mindfulness and a greater sense of calm and inner stillness. The experience may also leave you feeling grounded, refreshed and more connected to yourself.
There is nothing you need to do during the sound bath - simply get comfortable, close your eyes if it feels right, and allow the sounds to move through the space around you.
