Cafe Quran - In the Footsteps of Prophet Adam AS
About
Assalam Alaikum everyone (Peace be upon you all)! The Convert Collective is back with a series of catch ups called Cafe Quran - a cozy, reflective space where we ponder on a chapter of the Quran, connect through meaningful conversation, all while enjoying a sip of our matchas and coffees.
In each session of this series, we will journey through the story of a prophet and the themes from their story that connect to us, and particularly to the convert experience. This month, we're delving into a part of the story of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), that present the themes of repentance and forgiveness.
Prophet Adam was the first human, the first prophet, and the first to turn back to Allah after falling short. His story is one we all carry: the fear of being too far gone, and the profound mercy of a Lord who welcomes us back. His dua reminds us that no one is beyond return.
Whether you're new to Islam, still finding your footing, or simply wanting to reflect in good company, this space is for you.
What to expect:
- A warm welcome and icebreaker to ease you in
- A guided walk through the Quranic passage we have chosen for the session
- Reflection questions and group discussion
- A drink from local cafe to enjoy throughout
Tickets are $10 (covering your drink of choice)
Please bring: A notebook, pen, a translated copy of the Quran and appropriate prayer attire (for those praying).
We invite you to start a Quran journal if you wish - having an allocated notebook for your reflections on passages from the Quran is a great step in developing a more meaningful connection to it. We will be sharing several reflection/journalling prompts throughout the session that you may wish to include in this journal :)
Join us for a moment of good company, reflection, and meaningful connection with the Quran. The details are below, InshaAllah we hope to see you there!
