Join us on the first Wednesday of the month to enjoy a discussion about the chosen film in a welcoming environment. Enjoy a casual conversation about the film and its themes with our Film Night coordinator and other movie fans. Tea, coffee & biscuits provided.This month’s film: Umberto D (1952, Italy)
When elderly pensioner Umberto Domenico Ferrari returns to his boarding house from a protest calling for a hike in old-age pensions, his landlady demands her 15,000-lire rent by the end of the month or he and his small dog will be turned out onto the street. Unable to get the money in time, Umberto fakes illness to get sent to a hospital, giving his beloved dog to the landlady’s pregnant and abandoned maid for temporary safekeeping.

Please note that access to the film night is via the rear entrance off Highgate Grove. Please use the intercom when you arrive, the Copland room is ‘*6’. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
