Would you know what to do if an emergency happened tomorrow? In an emergency, the first 72 hours can be the most important. Join Moorabool Shire Council's Emergency Management Team for this practical and informative workshop, designed to help you prepare for emergencies such as bushfires, storms, power outages and other unexpected events.
During the session, you'll learn how to:
- identify the emergencies that could affect you and your local area
- create a simple emergency plan
- prepare essential supplies for the first 72 hours
- plan for medications, mobility needs, pets and important documents
- stay informed using trusted emergency information
- build a support network and prepare for disruptions to essential services.
The workshop is designed to provide practical information without causing alarm. You'll leave with simple, achievable steps to help you feel more prepared and confident should an emergency occur.
Morning tea will be provided, giving you the opportunity to chat with other participants and ask questions in a relaxed setting.
This is a free event presented as part of the Moorabool Seniors Festival. Bookings are essential.
