JENNA LEE: WRITTEN IN STONE & SEED & STAR (VIP walk-through)

ECU Gallery is delighted to invite you to join us for our inaugural exhibition opening night, including an early entry VIP gallery walk-through, showcasing works by nationally renowned Gulumerridjin (Larrakia), Wardaman, KarraJarri and Japanese artist, Jenna Lee.

Jenna Lee's practice focuses on intricate paper sculptures and installations, inviting viewers into an immersive experience that navigates her family history and explores her communities’ lived experiences of immigration and being Aboriginal in colonial systems. 

Jenna’s practice is characterised by deep research and thoughtful reflection. Her processes are repetitive and symbolic, echoing rituals that hold sacred significance within traditional, familial, and cultural contexts. Her practice is deeply embodied, with each work formed through a rhythmic, ritual-like process. The artist has made new sculptural work for the exhibition, which will be its first time shown publicly.
