TRANSCENDING TRADITIONS FROM HISTORIC TO MODERN
About
Sydney scholar performers and close colleagues, Zoltán Szabó and Nicholas Kennedy, present an evening of chamber music based around the key of G minor, featuring two youthful sonatas for cello and piano by significant composers, written only marginally outside of the 19th century. Beethoven's Sonata Op. 5 no. 2 from 1796 will be performed employing historical performance devices, whereas Sergei Rachmaninov’s Sonata Op. 19 from 1901 will be played in the romantic style it deserves.Date
