Wingecarribee Shire Council, together with Loom Fabrics, is hosting a four-part workshop series focused on clothing repair, reuse and upcycling.
The workshops are suitable for beginners and will focus mainly on simple hand-sewing techniques that can be used at home. All workshops run from 9:30am - 11:30am.
Workshop 1 Thursday 22nd October 2026 9:30am - 11:30am– Quick Fix: Buttons & Simple Hems
Learn the essential hand-sewing skills needed to replace buttons, repair loose stitching and sew simple hems, helping everyday garments last longer.
Workshop 2 Saturday 24th October 2026 9:30am - 11:30am– Make It Last: Rips & Repairs
Learn practical techniques for repairing small tears, split seams and worn areas using simple hand-sewing methods that anyone can learn.
Workshop 3 Thursday 26 November 2026 9:30am - 11:30am - Tattered to Treasure: Upcycle Your Favourite Pieces
Give well-loved clothing a new lease on life using creative repair and embellishment techniques.
Workshop 4 Saturday 28 November 2026 9:30am - 11:30am– Visible Mending: Creative Repair with Style
Explore decorative hand stitching and visible mending techniques that turn repairs into a feature and celebrate the story of your clothing.
