Take a leisurely walk through Geelong's CBD, following Michael Cassar's public art that celebrates this city's most successful silversmith - Stuart Devlin, who was appointed jeweller to HM Queen Elizabeth in 1982.Find answers that are hidden in Michael's works to a playful quiz on Devlin's designs for the first Australian decimal coins,1966. Then rejoin the group at The Geelong Club for a complimentary drink and charcuterie board while we hear Dr Adele Norton (Geelong Coin Club) speak about Stuart Devlin and his extensive work. We will also hear from the Decimal Currency Bandit, John Killick (Courtesy of the National Crime & Justice Museum).
PLEASE NOTE: the Geelong Club was built in 1881 and has no lifts. The talks will be held in the Members' Bar on the first floor. We apologise for the impact this may have on attendance.
