Few bands have left a mark on blues and roots music quite like The Allman Brothers Band. Fusing Delta blues, Southern soul, jazz improvisation, country and rock, they created a sound that changed American music forever. Their legendary live performances and timeless songs continue to inspire musicians more than 50 years on.
On Saturday 12 September, Martha Salt Music proudly presents TWIGGS – The Australian Allman Brothers Experience, an outstanding seven-piece band dedicated to capturing the spirit, musicianship and energy of this iconic catalogue.
Drawing from classic albums including The Allman Brothers Band, Idlewild South, At Fillmore East, Eat a Peach and Brothers and Sisters, TWIGGS delivers the songs that defined a generation. Expect favourites such as Statesboro Blues, Whipping Post, Jessica, Dreams, Trouble No More, Melissa, Ramblin' Man and more, performed with the passion, improvisation and authenticity that made the originals legendary.
At the heart of the show is the unmistakable Allman Brothers sound – soaring twin lead guitars, the powerful groove of two drummers, soulful Hammond organ and extended musical interplay that made every performance unique.
