Native bees of Kensington Bushland
About
Dr Kit Prendergast - also known to some as Bee Babette - will present the findings of her surveys of the native bee population in the Kensington Bushland.Kensington Bushland is a precious healthy remnant of bushland in Perth. It has high biodiversity value supporting roughly 235 native plant species, over 70 bird species, 16 reptile species and numerous invertebrates. However, the native bees - the precious pollinators - had never been properly assessed.
Join us in learning about the diversity of native bees here, the plants they use, and the amazing ecological interactions they are part of.
Arrive around 2.45pm to register and grab a tea or coffee for a 3.00 pm start. If the weather is fine, our volunteers will be there to lead a casual walk through Jirdarup.
