Eleanor Limprecht is one of Australian literature's most quietly compelling voices, known for meticulously researched historical fiction, including Long Bay (2015), The Passengers (2018), and The Coast (2022), as well as deeply affecting explorations of motherhood in What Was Left (2013) and her brand new fifth novel, Cul-de-Sac, out September 1, available for pre-order at Ramona now. Born and raised across the US, Germany, and Pakistan, Eleanor now calls Sydney home, and describes herself as a constant reader.
Cul-de-Sac marks a departure into contemporary domestic suspense. Jacquie appears to have the perfect life: a beautiful home in suburban Virginia, a successful American husband, two happy children. But a holiday back to her mother's alpaca farm on the NSW South Coast clears her vision in ways she didn't expect. Away from Brandon's controlling behaviour, she realises she can never go back. The problem: Brandon is a man who refuses to lose, and with international parental abduction charges hanging over her, Jacquie is trapped. Stay, and she's a criminal. Return, and she's his prey.
