Join Dean Morley, formerly of the world-famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band and now with Sydney City Brass, alongside Julie Morley of Sydney City Brass, for an inspiring and practical tuba masterclass focused on the most important part of any great ensemble — its foundation.
Building the Foundation is for tuba and low-brass players who want to develop a bigger, more confident sound, improve ensemble playing, strengthen technique and discover what it really takes to create a first-class bottom end. Dean and Julie bring years of elite-level brass band experience, but this day is about more than playing notes: it’s about sound, breathing, listening, teamwork and understanding your role at the heart of the band.
Whether you’re an experienced player looking to lift your game or a developing tubist keen to learn from two outstanding musicians, come along, bring your instrument and spend the day going deep with Deano & Jules!
