After the introduction, there will be a presentation of the early sound classic, Min and Bill (1930).

The crusty Min, who runs a seedy waterfront hotel with the assistance of the old sea salt, Bill, navigates the challenges of raising an abandoned young child. The film resonated strongly with Depression era audiences as its deeply tragic undertones were counter-balanced by the immense personal sacrifice of Min in her existence along the docks. Audiences then and now are drawn to the timeless warmth, humour and grief of a simple comic tale, possessed of such emotional depth.”
