A reading club where kids read to kids.
Following the lovely response to our boys' reading programme, we're opening things up for one special Kids Reading to Kids session, and this time, everyone is invited.
Because sometimes the best person to convince a kid that reading is fun is another kid.
Older and more confident readers will pair up with younger children to share books, read aloud, chat about stories and discover something new together.
No lessons. No tests. Just kids, books and good company.
Readers can bring a favourite book from home, choose something from the shelves at Ramona, or let us help find the perfect book.
Younger readers can listen, browse, join in, discover new favourites and spend some time with enthusiastic reading role models.
And it doesn't have to be a traditional chapter book. Graphic novels, joke books, fact books, Pokémon, footy stats, Guinness World Records... if it gets a kid excited about reading, it's welcome.
Who is it for?
Older readers: Kids who enjoy reading and would like to share that enthusiasm with someone younger.
Younger readers: Kids who are learning to read, finding reading tricky, or simply love having someone read to them.
Children of all genders are welcome.
What happens when we arrive?
We'll welcome everyone, give them a name badge, help them find a comfy spot and pair readers and listeners together.
Then we'll settle in with books, snacks and plenty of recommendations.
Our one rule: Be a kind reader. Be a kind listener.
Places are limited, so bookings are essential.
