Castlemaine Art Deco day trip
About
Join us for a day out in Castlemaine on Sunday 15th November to be guided past some Art Deco delights on the way to a 2-course lunch followed by a walk to the Castlemaine Art Museum for a tour and lecture. After taking time to look around, we will be refreshed with a cocktail at another Art Deco venue on our way back to board the train back to Melbourne.Transport:
Catch the train or make your own travel arrangements
If not on the train, meet at the Railway Hotel for lunch
PROGRAM
11:02 am Depart Southern Cross Station - you must book your own train ticket (consider catching the 10:02 am train and have a free hour to look around)
12:34 pm Arrive at Castlemaine Railway Station and walk to the Art Deco Railway Hotel (next to the station)
12:40 Lunch
1:45 Walk to the Castlemaine Art Museum
2:00 Short armchair tour presentation of Deco buildings in Castlemaine - participants provided with a printed brochure to guide a self tour
2:20 Welcome from the Director Leslie Gurusinghe and Board and tour of the Museum.
3:00 Free time to tour gallery and main streets
4:00 Bar Midland, Midland Hotel for DuBonnet Cocktails
4:54 Return train to Melbourne
6:29 Arrive Southern Cross Station Melbourne
Ticket holders will be asked to complete a form listing:
- Method of travel to Castlemaine
- If travelling by train, confirmation of return ticket purchase
- Dietary requirements
TICKETS: $95 for members and $115 for non-members to cover costs of meal and drinks and a small donation to the Museum (any donations will be greatly appreciated)
NOTE: Transport cost not included in ticket price
