Australian Junior Mathematics Olympiad (AJMO) 2026

AJMO is a brand new competition designed for students up to Year 8 who are interested in challenging mathematics and Olympiad-style problem solving but who are not yet ready for the AIMO. It provides an accessible introduction to mathematical reasoning, creativity and problem solving in a competition environment. The competition aims to give younger students a chance to spend time on challenging mathematical problems. The problems have been designed so that students should not see the answer immediately and may not know how to proceed immediately. We encourage students to play around with the problems, use pen and paper, write lists, draw pictures, jot down ideas, and spend time thinking. The AJMO may be used to identify students who are suitable for further enrichment and challenge.
AJMO consists of:
- 10 problems
- 90 minutes working time
- Online delivery only at MathsInside Classroms
- Integer-answer responses
- No written solutions required
- Students enter a single integer answer (0-999) for each question.
AJMO 是 AMT 专为 8 年级及以下的学生设计的全新高难度数学竞赛。它的推出填补了低年级学生在进阶奥数竞赛领域的空白，旨在为那些对数学充满热情、渴望挑战比普通竞赛（如 AMC）更有深度，但又尚未准备好参加高阶竞赛（如 AIMO，针对 10 年级及以下）的学生提供一个循序渐进的平台。

Session 1: Thursday 10 September at Doncaster East 9:00 - 10:30 am
Session 2: Thursday 10 September at Doncaster East, 16:15 - 17:45 pm
Session 3: Thursday 10 September at Armadale , 18:00 -19:15 pm

Cost: $25 per student per ticket (Special introductory price only)
