About
As part of our ‘Partnerships Against Pests’ project, Connecting Country is partnering with Ag Skills Victoria to deliver a heavily subsidised Agricultural Chemical Skill Set course for Landcarers and local landholders. The cost of this course is usually $380, but you will only pay $50.The course is the industry standard for training in chemical use, storage and handling and incorporates a blend of theory and practical training and assessment.
On successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment which can be used to apply for an Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP) through Agriculture Victoria to purchase and use some restricted chemicals.
*Please note additional training and certification is required beyond this course for the use of 1080 for pest animal control which is also offered through this program on Saturday 24th October, please see Connecting Country website for more information.
The course includes;
Transport and Store Chemicals
Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds and Diseases
Record Keeping and safe storage requirements
Determining weather conditions suitable for spraying
Easy and practical calibration techniques
Workplace Health and Safety and APVMA compliant
Morning Tea and Lunch provided.
