Have your say: Geraldton Youth Neuro Action Plan Workshop
About
Help to shape our Greater Geraldton Neuro Youth Action Plan, a youth-informed roadmap for informing and improving neurological health, peer support and related community services, support and advocacy.
Are you aged 12-18 and living with a neurological condition or are you neurodiverse?
What would make life better for young people like you?
The Neurological Council wants to hear directly from young people from Greater Geraldton’s neurological community about what is working well, what is not working and what needs to change to improve health, wellbeing, education and community participation in the region.
What will we talk about?
We'll explore:
· Access to health and wellbeing services
· School and learning experiences
· Community participation and recreation opportunities
· Social connection, inclusion and belonging
· Barriers, challenges and opportunities
· Ideas for improving support for neurodiverse and neurologically impacted young people.
Why does this matter?
Young people are experts in their own lives. We want to ensure that future neurological health services, programs and community initiatives reflect the needs, experiences and aspirations of young people in Geraldton, Northampton and Dongara.
What do we hope to achieve together?
Your ideas and experience will help identify priorities and practical actions that will inform the development of a regional Greater Geraldton Neuro Youth Action Plan and:
· Amplify youth voices
· Build leadership and capacity of local young people
· Identify local priorities and quick wins
· Guide future health, education and community support services
· Improve outcomes for neurodiverse and neurologically impacted young people across the Mid West.
