Join us at the River Garden for an information and action packed day, learning about bushfoods, local butterflies and the indigenous plants they depend on. Be a part of helping to finish off our Bushfood and Butterfly garden planting areas to attract local pollinators, increase biodiversity, and the overall diversity of growing areas at the River Garden.
Learn all about native bushfood plants you can incorporate into your garden with our special guest speaker Jessica Moulynox from Backyard Botany. Jess is an Ethnobotanist, who will share her extensive knowledge on native bushfood plant features, how to use them in a bushfood garden and in your cooking too. Jess will also bring along some delicious bushfood morning tea and samples to try.
We will also learn about native butterfly conservation, the plants they depend on and how important their ecological functions are with Zoologist Sooyeon Ahn from the Threatened Species Conservancy.
At our planting session, find out about the local plants with our own Lisa Wangman, Education Training and Communications Manager for BCLN and tour the River Garden.
All participants will get to take home a native indigenous plant to help attract important pollinators in your garden or farm.

Bring along your water bottle, we provide all tools, lunch, guidance and space to socialise, learn and help create this great community space! Parking is between the Bass Hall and Op Shop, session starts in the Hall, entry to the River Garden is via the gates at the side of the Landcare office.
