Join us at Sydney Acting Studio for a special performed reading of Counterpoint, a new full-length play by acclaimed screenwriter and producer Steph Lady.Set against the turbulent rise of Stalin’s Soviet Union, Counterpoint follows legendary composer Dmitri Shostakovich as his extraordinary talent brings him success, scrutiny and increasing pressure from the State. As the political world closes in around him, Shostakovich is forced to navigate the conflict between artistic freedom, loyalty, survival and conscience.
Steph’s career includes writing Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for Sony/TriStar and working as an original writer and associate producer on Doctor Dolittle, starring Eddie Murphy.
