About
Love nature, getting creative and making things? Come along to the Port Phillip EcoCentre garden and build a pollinator hotel!Pollinators like native bees, butterflies and other insects are essential to healthy gardens and ecosystems. In this hands-on school holiday workshop, you’ll learn about some of the amazing insects living around us and discover how we can create habitat for them in our gardens and neighbourhoods.
At this workshop you’ll:
🐝 Discover Melbourne’s amazing pollinators
🌿 Learn how to create habitat for native bees and other beneficial insects
🔨 Design and build your own pollinator hotel using natural and recycled materials
🌱 Explore the EcoCentre garden and look for pollinator-friendly plants
💡 Get creative and come up with your own ideas for supporting biodiversity at home or school.
No previous building or gardening experience needed, just bring your curiosity and creativity! Open to young people aged 12 to 18 who live or study in the City of Port Phillip
