This January, Vanguard Performing Arts presents the Vanguard Summer Academy 2027 - an intensive week of training, creation and performance for young artists ready to push themselves further.
Across one incredible week, students will train alongside an exceptional faculty of leading choreographers, teachers and industry professionals, working across multiple genres while creating work specifically for the Vanguard Summer Academy 2027.
The week culminates in two live performances at The Rechabite, giving students the opportunity to take everything they've developed in the studio and bring it to the stage.
This isn't simply a week of classes.
It's an opportunity to train harder, create, collaborate, perform and experience what it feels like to be completely immersed in your craft.
TWO AGE GROUPS. ONE SUMMER ACADEMY.
The Vanguard Summer Academy will operate across two dedicated age groups, allowing students to train, create and perform alongside artists at a similar age and stage of development.
AGES 10-14
A dedicated Summer Academy experience for young performers aged 10-14 years.
AGES 15+
A dedicated Summer Academy experience for performers aged 15 years and over.

THE EXPERIENCE
MONDAY 11 - FRIDAY 15 JANUARY 2027
Intensive Training @ Vanguard Performing Arts
9.00am - 3.00pm daily
Five days of immersive training, choreography and creative development with the Summer Academy faculty.
SATURDAY 16 - SUNDAY 17 JANUARY
Rehearsals & Production
Students will bring the week's work together as they prepare for the Summer Academy performances.
MONDAY 18 JANUARY
TWO LIVE PERFORMANCES @ THE RECHABITE
The Summer Academy culminates on stage at one of Perth's most exciting live performance venues.

Students will experience an intensive and varied training program incorporating multiple styles, choreography, creative development and performance preparation throughout the week.

Please note: Summer Academy registration includes the participating student's involvement in both performances. Audience tickets for the performances at The Rechabite are not included in the Academy registration and will be released for purchase separately.
Further ticketing information will be provided to participating families closer to the performances.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Vanguard Summer Academy is designed for committed young performers looking for an intensive training and performance experience.
The Academy is open to:
AGES 10-14
AGES 15+
Students do not need to currently train at Vanguard Performing Arts to participate.
Whether joining us from Vanguard or another training environment, the Summer Academy is an opportunity to step into something different - to work with new faculty, experience new creative processes and share the studio with likeminded performers.
Places within each age group are limited to ensure the Academy remains a focused, high-quality training and performance experience.

Following payment, you will be directed to complete the Summer Academy Student Registration Form, which will provide Vanguard with the additional information required for each participant.
Further information regarding the detailed schedule, what to bring, rehearsals, production requirements and performances will be provided to registered families ahead of the Academy.
