For emerging filmmakers, cinematographers and storytellersYear 10-12 students with an interest in cameras, directing or lighting are invited to explore the possibilities of visual storytelling by taking part in this one day filmmaking workshop. Gain access to and learn to use professional filmmaking equipment, including high-powered lights, sound equipment and a full 6K cinema camera package.
Upon arrival, you’ll meet David and Bill who’ll be your mentors for the day. They’ll take you through all the equipment piece by piece and explain what everything is, why it’s used on professional film sets, and how it all helps tell engaging stories.
After a fully catered lunch, you’ll then work as a team to plan the shots, decorate and light the set - before shooting a full short film. Each participant will receive guidance and support from our Mentors who are there to ensure you leave with the skills and confidence to tackle your own projects.
The film will be edited live on the day (through live vision switching), meaning you'll be able to see your work before the end of the day.
