Discover the beauty of stitching Sashiko style in this relaxing, friendly, 2 day workshop which is suitable for all levels and ages 10 to 100!Using traditional Japanese Sashiko techniques, you’ll create 4 beautiful denim blue coasters, each featuring a different Sashiko pattern with your choice of thread colour.
Fabric, threads, morning and afternoon teas - and guidance - are provided. 🥰
I will teach you:
. How to do running stitch Sashiko style
. How to use a palm thimble
. How to stabilise your fabric
. How to learn and practice patterns using paper and pens / pencils
. The easy, low cost way to mark up your fabric
. The traditional Rice Flower stitch
. A stitching pattern chosen so you can practice stitching curves
. A stitching pattern that incorporates weaving
. How to hand stitch the front of your coaster to the lining, trim, turn and press.
