Auditions to perform at Farrago Ink's Cabaret style show - Beyond the Proscenium - Jan 15-16th 2027Our show is a Musical Theatre inspired cabaret celebrating the songs, characters and stories that live beyond the proscenium. The songs we are considering for the show fit the musical theatre/cabaret vibe. We are focused on songs that tell stories.
The Group Basics Session is required for All Auditionees. This will cover basic dance and singing. Please book this session and either/both the dance call or a solo slot.
Dance Chorus Audition is required for anyone wishing to be featured in dance numbers.
Solo Audition is required for all Auditionees who wish to be featured singing. Please choose a song of your choice and email us the backing track to farrago@farrago.ink so we can play it for you on the day. Alternatively you can arrange your own accompanist. Please email us to let us know if this is your chosen option. If you wish to audition as a duet or small group of singers please email us an enquiry.
We are looking for a range of singers and dancers, with some strong solo vocals, a strong small dance chorus and a larger ensemble. If you love to perform please come audition. Age Range 16-85yrs. All genders, neurotypes and ethnicities are welcome.
Rehearsal Requirements -
Rehearsals will be Monday and Wednesday evening 7-10 as well as Sunday afternoons. First rehearsal will be Oct 18th
Throughout October and November Mondays evenings will focus on Singing and Wednesdays on Dancing. Sundays being a mix. Cast will only be called as needed, scheduled around availability. In December both singing and dance may be called at any rehearsals. Dec 23th 27th and 30th will have no rehearsals. All January rehearsals will require all cast. Currently all rehearsals will be at Darlington Primary School, although some of the dance rehearsals we may try to find a venue with better flooring. This will be communicated once organised.
Current commitment too another show in 2026 does not exclude you from this show.
Jan 14th will be an in theatre tech rehearsal. Please note being a small show with minimal set we will not be having a traditional full tech week. Monday and Wednesday rehearsals that week will be dress runs in rehearsal venue.
Performance Requirements-
Jan 15th and 16th Evening performances
Jan 16th Matinee
All performers will be required to supply their own black base outfit for performances.
If successful - to be a part of our show we will require a $50 show and insurance levy, this will also give you access to 1 free ticket.
