About

Build your confidence in recognising and managing paediatric cardiac emergencies with Paeds HeartSim, a two-day multidisciplinary simulation course.

Paeds HeartSim is designed for clinicians who may be involved in the initial assessment and management of children with cardiac disease, including those who present acutely to ED or deteriorate in the ward environment.

Across two days, participants will explore practical approaches to common and important paediatric cardiac presentations, including arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, the unwell neonate and post-operative complications.

The course combines focused teaching with practical, high-fidelity simulation and facilitated debriefing. Participants will work through a range of realistic clinical scenarios, providing opportunities to practise assessment and management, clinical decision-making, escalation of care and effective teamwork in a safe learning environment.

Teaching is provided by an experienced multidisciplinary faculty from paediatric cardiology, critical care and simulation, with an emphasis on translating cardiac knowledge into practical approaches that can be applied in the clinical setting.

Paeds HeartSim is particularly suited to medical and nursing staff who care for acutely unwell children and would like to develop their confidence in recognising and responding to paediatric cardiac presentations.
