Dear Parents and Carers,We warmly invite parents and carers who would like to become more involved in the St Bernard’s College community to join us for our upcoming Social Justice Network meeting.
The Social Justice Network provides parents and carers with an opportunity to connect with others, contribute to meaningful initiatives and support the College’s commitment to social justice, service, advocacy and community engagement.
Whether you are new to St Bernard’s College or have been part of our community for some time, we would love to welcome new members and share more about the Network, the programs we support and the many ways you can become involved.

What does the Social Justice Network do?
The Social Justice Network assists the St Bernard’s College Identity Team with a number of important events, programs and community partnerships throughout the year, including:
• St Vincent de Paul – Winter Sleepout, Winter Appeal and Christmas Appeal
• Aboriginal Catholic Ministry – FIRE Carriers: Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education
• Edmund Rice Community Services – St Albans Tutoring Program
• Founder’s Day and Marby 150 Run – supporting the Edmund Rice Catholic Education Centre in Embulbul, Kenya
• Project Compassion – supporting the Caritas Australia initiative throughout Lent
• EREA – ERA for Change – Edmund Rice Advocacy for Change
• Retreats Program – including The Man Cave
• Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders – Global Classroom Partners Program and Cluster
• Holloway Aged Care, Keilor East
• Helping Hands Mission, Airport West – community partnership
• Kick Arts Program – supporting the Miriam Rose Foundation
Being part of the Social Justice Network is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and carers, build connections within the College and contribute to initiatives that have a meaningful impact both locally and beyond our community.
There is no obligation to take on a formal role or participate in every initiative. Parents and carers are welcome to contribute in a way that suits their interests, availability and capacity.
Following this meeting, Social Justice Committee meetings are generally held online via Microsoft Teams once per term, making it easy for parents and carers to remain involved.
We would be delighted to welcome you on Wednesday evening, either in person or online, to meet other members and learn more about how you can be involved.
