Singers of Southern Tasmania return to St David’s Cathedral for a spring concert featuring Haydn’s powerful “Nelson Mass”. Originally titled "Missa in angustiis" or “Mass for troubled times” it became known as the Nelson Mass in recognition of Lord Nelson’s victories over Napoleon’s army. Haydn's joyful hymn of praise "Te Deum" completes the program.Conducted by Jamie Allen, the choir will be joined by soprano, alto, tenor and bass soloists and will be accompanied by trumpets, strings, timpani and organ for this exciting performance.
