The Ruby Jazz Club & Brisbane International Jazz Festival present The Dan Costa Quartet.Featuring Eddie Gazani on guitar, the quartet presents a vibrant celebration of Brazilian and Latin jazz, blending bossa nova, samba and contemporary jazz improvisation.
Internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Dan Costa has collaborated with some of the most distinguished names in jazz and Brazilian music, including Ivan Lins, Randy Brecker, John Patitucci, Mike Stern, Hermeto Pascoal and bossa nova pioneer Roberto Menescal. His award-winning debut album, Suite Três Rios, was named among DownBeat’s best albums of 2016, with the magazine praising his “melodic sensibility.” His music has also been described as “rare and luxurious” by All About Jazz and praised for its “profound expression” by JAZZIZ.
The quartet features Brazilian-born, Brisbane-based singer, guitarist and composer Eddie Gazani, whose expressive performances draw upon the rich traditions of bossa nova, samba and Latin jazz. Together, Costa and Gazani deliver an uplifting musical journey filled with lyrical melodies, infectious rhythms and inspired improvisation.

Step inside from 6:30 pm. The music begins at 7:30 pm. Venue closes at 11.30pm.
Seating is unreserved and claimed by those who arrive first. The early ones always find the best vantage point.
Food and small plates will be available throughout the evening, and the bar will be flowing with local and international wines, classic cocktails, fine spirits, and a deep collection of bourbons worthy of New Orleans itself.
