You loved it so much it’s back again for round 2! Egyptian Hand Gestures and Expressions. A live drumming dance workshop with all new gestures and songs!Joining us once again is the fabulous percussionist Rayan Aridi. In the workshop you’ll even get the chance for individual improvisation with Rayan so you can practice your gestures while dancing with a drummer! Yeehaaa!
This 2-hour workshop will cover the following topics:
- Cultural significance of hand gestures in Egypt
- Common Egyptian hand gestures & expressions useful for dance performance
- Popular songs and what gestures to use when dancing to them
- How to incorporate gestures into your dancing in an authentic way
- How to match gestures to song lyrics appropriately
- Individual improvisation with a drummer practising your hand gestures
