Welcome to the Adult Acting Ensemble's project of Dancing at Lughnasa.Friel's Irish masterpiece is an evocation of a family's world on the brink of change. Harvest time, County Donegal, 1936. The five Mundy sisters raise young Michael and care for their brother Jack, a priest just returned from decades as a missionary in Uganda. During the Festival of Lughnasa, pagan and Christian collide, old rituals surfacing beneath a devout household. The sisters fight each other, love each other, dance, yearn and survive.
Narrated by the adult Michael, join us for an evening of intimate storytelling about one luminous summer and five women dancing on the edge of a world about to change.
